I voted "Other" and my alternative is to wait to make this decision when we have more information. As to the point about value of 2021 picks that might be traded, their value is speculative based on how an owner thinks that team might finish the 2020 season. Knowing or suspecting there would be a random draft order makes all picks less valuable because they are all more volatile. And I'd argue that using the same draft order in 2021 if there's no season is much more fair than random order specifically because the 2020 order is based on actual team performance, which is the intention. Randomness throws team performance out the window entirely.

Would you be open to a bound selection of 2021 rookie draft positions (still a contingency if there is no NFL season)? It would not be completely random but would attempt to simulate the variance of draft slots from years to year -- essentially using the 2020 rookie draft order as the baseline and ensuring no one moves more than 6-8 picks away from their 2020 draft slot? In that sense it bounds the randomness considerably. Mostly I just want to understand if your major concerns are with a fully random selection for 2021 (which I think we collectively have moved off as an idea) or if you share the same concerns with a "bound randomness".

Interesting, but I just don't think we need to make that decision yet.

I just don't think we need to make that decision yet. I agree with you and have come around to that line of thinking. My sense is at this point we should eliminate options that aren't palatable (like random 24 selection and snake draft) so that owners have some sense of expectation of how 2021 picks will be treated if they are attempting to trade/acquire them. Then we wait to see how NFL handles the season and pick it back up from there. Hopefully this approach will never need to be deployed...in desperate need of some distraction that NFL, or any major sporting event for that matter, can provide.
