Here is how you do it: - randomly draw the 5 new teams to figure out where they place within those 5 spots at the 11-15 record - randomly select a team for the #1 draft spot from teams 1-8 - after that pick, add in team 9 and randomly pick another team for the #2 draft spot - keep adding in the next team and make the next pick - this will guarantee that no team moves up more than 8 slots - if a team has been in the random drawing 8 times, then they automatically get the next slot - for example if team 1 is still in the drawing after 8 picks, then they automatically get the #9 slot - this will guarantee that no team drops more than 8 slot - then snake that order for rounds 2, 4, 6, 8 I could get behind this, though I would start at 24 and work to 1 just for the spectacle of it. What do others think? rg

In that event, tiebreaker could be last year's draft order.

I think +/- 8 and not +/- 6. The odds that someone actually moves up or down 8 is only 12.5%

Most teams wouldn’t likely move more than 8 spots from their previous years spot, so that works for me. Is it necessary to snake if we go with this format? I still see that messing up traded draft picks. We need something that is going to be consistent with previous drafts, and also wouldn’t blow up if there is or isn’t a 2020 season. In other words, say someone trades Greeney for his 2nd round pick. In a snake format, this would be early 2nd, but in our traditional format, it would be a late 2nd. Having a 2021 snake draft if there’s no season and a traditional draft if there is a season gives too much variability when valuing trading of future picks.

We are still voting on the delay in the other poll right? So far it’s fairly spilt with 7 for some sort of delay and 6 for starting next Friday. I’ve always been a proponent of moving the draft back a bit. Just making sure we are still honoring the other poll.

If there is no NFL season, then a snake draft is necessary to even it up. I don't think that idea is supportable frankly. The snake makes sense if the order is randomized to me, but if it's based on last years record to some degree then the snake makes way less sense imo.
