Now that the NFL has added a 17th game and a 18th week to the schedule, we need to figure out what we should do with the extra week.
I figure that we can either add another week (2 games) to our regular season... or... keep our schedule the same and just ignore week 18 and keep our championship game on week 17.
Thoughts?

I’ve always disliked having a championship the final week of the season when many top players are resting before the playoffs. I say ignore week 18. IMO.

I'd be fine with that. Alternately have the championship game be the combined score of Weeks 17 and 18.

Fantasy football games on the last week of the season are bunk.

Unless there is overwhelming support for another option we are going to leave our schedule exactly as is and hope the 18th week means that the 16th and 17th weeks have far fewer shenanigans based on players sitting out.

I kinda like the 2 week championship idea with the sum of both scores

Agree with Greeney. The week 17 championship has been the major flaw of this league and the NFL fixed it for us. Let's not get cute.

Also agree that we should keep things as they are with a Week 17 Championship. Lets see how the NFL teams play it out this year and then we can revisit next offseason.

Bumping this as there are bye weeks Week 14 now. Which is worse, week 18 finals or the first round of the playoffs guaranteed to be missing players? The answer is both.
Week 14 Indianapolis, Miami, New England, Philadelphia

The NFL really screwed this league in particular with the 4 week playoff system. The best way to fix it (tough to do right now, but can be done) is to go to an 8 team playoff and a 3 week system (Weeks 15, 16 and 17).
You could stick with the 6 divisions and have the top two non-division winning teams get in or switch to
Four 6-team divisions and have the four division winners get the top four seeds and the next four best records as the 5-8 seeds. For ease of selection just go by regular season standings from last year and count off to balance the divisions for this year.
Having only 1/3 of the league make the playoffs is less fun and no official advantage to winning a division other than seeding, but you avoid both issues of the Week 14 bye week and the Week 18 crapshoot in a deep league like we have.
Division Proposal under four 6-team divisions:
Lebowski Longpoots Fvck Goff Woodlands Kraftwerk Joe Cooper
Nao Hakuna Avg Joe's McFadden's Topical Pun Chaos
4 Horse Little Giants Your Mom Charles in Charge Greyhounds Drew Bledsoe
Robot Mafia Steelz Pride Escaped Lunatics Mad Titan Antifa Rastafarian

I can't get behind making the playoff pool smaller, though I appreciate the out of the box thinking.
Side Note, by an amazing quirk, that first division has 6 of the last 7 championships and 3 of the 4 active owners that have ever won the league (Though I may be missing one from before I joined: Corr, Me, Lebowski, Poots - The league history is completely wrong on the site, but I'd happily claim the 6 trophies it claims I have).
