SOrry about the holdup. It was a choice between drafting and seeing the worlds most active volcano.

And d**n you, G'Roy! wtf are you doing taking Peerman so d**ned early? I was hoping to pair him with Rice, but have to settle for CIN's next starting RB instead. Bastich. I draft guys based on talent a lot of times (especially down here), I know Peerman was a little early, but I wanted to make sure I got him. Also, Ozzie has a pretty good track record.... The more names I get called, the more I know I did something right.

Really pleased with this draft now that I'm done. I don't have first or second round picks next year, but have developed what ought to be a solid enough core of young players that I actually contend for the playoffs.
My goals going in were: 1) Obtain a WR better than Randle-El to run with Marshall/Jennings, 2) Improve my atrocious TE situation significantly, 3) Add a RB2 to run with Forte, 4) depth on D. I think I managed to accomplish all items.
1.06 Maclin, Jeremy PHI WR - ought to be the #1 WR in PHI by 2010, maybe earlier. A go-to guy in a pass happy O that allows Jackson to move into the slot if they decide to keep Curtis at the outside and might make PHI almost impossible to defend when they throw. Regardless, he's an impact WR in a very friendly O.
1.09 Greene, Shonn NYJ RB - Never going to accumulate tons of receiving opportunties, but he ought to be the answer for the Jets running the ball consistently. The O-line has improved by tons the past 2 years, and this guy is just tough to tackle one on one. That should mean good rushing yards and rushing TDs, which makes him a potentially very solid RB2.
2.14 Ingram, Cornelius PHI TE - He's immediately better than what PHI has at TE right now, and Ried runs a very TE friendly O. If LJ Smith can be a credible FF TE, think of what this kid can be. Word is he is already impressing the coaches and the vets.
3.06 Scott, Bernard CIN RB - My other chance at a RB2 if Greene and Rice can't get it done. Big time talent in this kid, and only Ced Benson - who while helping the CIN running game was still well below the Mendoza line in ypc - ahead of him. He can run inside & out, catches very well, is a good blocker. Downside: His age means he needs to make his impact quickly, and whether he can get his attitude together. Word has it he has matured significantly lately. Would have liked Ced Peerman to match with Rice by G'Roy surprised me and beat me to him. This isn't a bad second choice after Peerman.
4.14 Moore, William ATL S - Surprised he fell this far. Solid cover skills for a S who figures to be an aggressive in-the-box SS in a 2 deep system in ATL. That smells like real good tackle numbers with some possible turnover scoring as well, and hopefully pushes my S1 to S2 where he belongs.
5.06 Casey, James HOU TE - Absolutely love this kid's potential matched with who is coaching him. he'll need to learn some in-line blocking techniques, but he has eveything else. Prolific pass catcher in college, and played all over the field. He can play on the line, in the slot, in motion, or even at FB, plus he ran as a wild cat QB in college. Pair him with Kubiak, who has seen a prolific pass catcher who needed in-line blocking work to make himself a true stud TE with Shannon Sharpe in DEN, and I could see Casey taking off big time at this position. I don't think I sweated a pick more, and would have taken him earlier except for Moore falling way too far, which I couldn't pass up.
5.09 Williams, Jason DAL LB - Very good athlete and tackling machine who gets to learn for a year or two behind Brooking before he gets his chance to shine. I'm hoping he doesn't make a splash at the Sam though. That would seriously detract from his value as he moves forth in his career.

Far and away the worst draft I ever had...I hate every one of my guys...this is the 1st draft ever that I invested in D...but I'm sick of having my O carry me for years and never win thingy...so time to shift that a bit
Heyward-Bey, Darrius OAK WR (R) - Destined to be a bust because a) He's a WR who can't catch and b) He's a Raider....there was no one else that I wanted by this point and he was simply value
Collie, Austin IND WR (R) - Since most of you are recently new, you have no idea my love for midget white Wr's...and he's a colt so this one was a no brainer. If Polian thinks he can be Stokely and gimme 800-5 a year to fill in for that POS Mark Clayton on my team, I'll take it
Maybin, Aaron BUF DE (R) - This one I actually liked....his technique sucks, but he's got insane speed. He's small but ran around a lot of guys for sacks last year....he's not quite ready for NFL, but I think he can be a stud
Chung, Patrick NEP S (R) - My S corp is made of glass and scuds, so the value here for him was good. The Pats have had success with some D guys, so what the hell
Brown, Cody ARI DE (R) - Assuming he or Kruger move to OLB I'll be ok...both are in good systems and my DE stash is older than Billy White Shoes
Kruger, Paul BAL DE (R) - If the Ravens like him that early, then so do I for our 7th round

1.10 Percy Harvin Well, before the draft started I told GRoy I will probably get Harvin based on other drafts. I was right. Think it might have been a steal. MIN is drawing up plays for him. Possible ROY candidate. Hopefully he can stay off the weed.
2.12 Brian Orakpo This was a tough choice. However, I needed DE help. Now I hear they are converting him to LB. I should have taken Pat White.
3.8 Glen Coffee Value pick. He'll sit on the PS until Gore gets hurt/old. He was taken in the 2nd round in pretty much every other draft I saw.
4.1 Derrick Williams I have taken him in 3 drafts (IM 1-3) so I hope he works out. I had him graded as a 2nd rounder. He has a lot of ability, but had some injuries in college. Nobody of consequence ahead of him for the #2 job in DET.
4.4 Larry English This could be a steal. I keep hearing Merriman may not be in SD much longer.
4.10 Robert Ayers I have no idea what position he will wind up at. Denver probably doesn't either because they have to be the most dysfunctional group of idiots ever assembled this side of Matt Millen and Detroit. Any how, some say Ayers could wind up being the best defensive player in this draft.
6.10 Alphonso Smith Well, Denver traded their 1st round pick next year, which may be 1.1 for him. So, I figure he will start day one.
7.10 Javarris Williams I have all the other KC RBs, so why not one more? Actually, I heard good things about him before the draft, so who knows. He may wind up being a good pro one day.
Other than the Orakpo pick, I thought I had a nice draft. Harvin and Smith could contribute this year. I think the other players will be contributors in the future.

1.11 Mark Sanchez - Because of the situation in Washington surrounding Campbell that he likely now is a short term QB there, I wanted to grab a QB in this draft but only it Sanchez or Stafford fell to me. I thought I had a good chance and was happy to see Sanchez available at the 1.11 pick. They didn't move up to sit him for long.
2.11 - Traded this pick and a 1st next year for Westbrook. I thought he'd have 2 more years left but now this could be a boneheaded trade. if it's just bone spurs, that's not bad...if it's more then I am SOL.
3.11 - Shawn Nelson - Not much in Buffalo ahead of him at this position and he has alot of talent. TE is a semi need for me so I am glad to grab him here.
Patrick Turner, Dominique Edison, Brooks Foster, Kevin Ogletree - All WR prospects. If just 1 of them hits I would be happy.+

1.04 Donald Brown RB IND– Needed a RB and even though he will share carries with Addai, I believe talent overcomes all. Will get his own gig (either here or another team) in the future. Thought about how I could draft Harvin… 2.04 James Laurinaitis LB STLI was all over the place with this pick. Wanted someone for immediate impact. Curry is lining up at SLB and Maualuga is a character risk. Reading that Laurinatis is lining up at MLB for the rams and impressing. Considered Peerman here, happy I waited. 3.04 Cedric Peerman RB BAL – Love this talent, hate the situation, will wait till he gets his own show. 3.12 Gartrell Johnson RB SDC – trying to hit on a lower round RB, would have loved Coffee here but oh well. 4.12 Michael Johnson DE CIN -- need a DE, whatever… 5.04 Nate Davis QB SFO -- good talent, may not make the cut 5.10 Rashad Johnson S ARI – Roll tide! 6.04 Quinten Lawrence WR KCC – new offense, new QB, could surprise (that’s about as good as you get down here) 7.04 Ryan Succop K KCC – franchise kicker, nough said

1.05 LeSean McCoy, RB, PHI - Went back and forth between he and Shonn Greene. Decided I liked McCoy's situation better long-term. And with +30 yr old Westbrook's injury history, may contribute right away.
1.12 Kenny Britt, WR, TEN - Needed WR help. Liked him far better than anyone still on the board. Two big years the last two years, big target. All-time leading WR in the Big East in only 3 years. Tennessee doesn't throw a ton, but he should get a chance to play early and often.
2.01 Brian Robiskie, WR, CLE - Still looking for WR help. An early 2nd round pick. Could fill the #2 WR spot in CLE.
2.06 Ray Maualuga, LB, CIN - Wanted one of the 3 big LB, didn't really care which one. Definitely a position of need for me.
2.10 Jared Cook, TE, TEN - sub 4.5 speed. Great pass-catching prospect. Can't block, but he'll learn. And that's not what I drafted him for. Scaife signed his franchise tender, so he's gone after this year.
3.05 Mohamed Massaquoi, WR, CLE - UGA sucks. But... the other 2nd round WR pick by CLE may end up the #2 WR there. Handcuffed the Robiskie pick with a legitimate talent. Whoever ends up the #2, I win.
4.05 James Davis, RB, CLE - A year ago he was a 1st round prospect. All hell broke loose at Clemson. Didn't get the touches he had his previous years. We'll see. Jamal Lewis is on his last leg. No other real talent waiting in the wings. 5.08 B.J. Raji, DT, GBP - Haven't drafted a DT since the initial draft in this league. But he's a Packer. And he's talented. I like Packers.
5.12 Darcel McBath, S, Den - Whatever. I always take a safety. 2nd round pick in the NFL draft for a bad defensive team. Bad defensive teams = lots of tackles for safeties.
6.05 Scott McKillop, ILB, SF - Averaged 144 tackles the past two seasons. If he gets on the field, obviously has a nose for the ball.
6.12 Gerald McRath, ILB, TEN - Apparently I'm a Titans fan. Or a Browns fan. Whatever. Another tackling machine in college. If he finds his way onto the field, that's a great thing.
For those keeping score at home, that's 3 straight picks whose last name begin with Mc. And 4 overall.
I went into this draft wanting to improve, in order, RB, LB, WR, TE, DE, S. Could have taken McCoy and Greene but was able to restock picks for next year by adding a 1st, 3 2nds, and a 3rd. I like James Davis' chance to be a surprise. I had him targeted beginning in the 3rd round. Took 3 highly drafted WRs. Hopefully 1 or 2 pan out, but they all go into good situations. Drafted 3 ILBs. Again, just need one to contribute immediately and Mauauaulu should be good for that. Too many picks so a few of these guys get cut even though they were clearly all awesome picks.

I don't know--I got about 2-3 of the guys I actually wanted, and then just tried to fill needs otherwise.
1.08 - Hakeem Nicks, WR NYG -- One of these days, I won't have to draft a WR with my first pick. Picked him in IM3, and having a similar first rounder, got him here. Think he'll develop into a good player.
2.08 - Clay Matthews, LB GNB -- I got caught at the end of the LB run. I have a ton of LBs, but most are either FAs or coming off injury, so I needed someone that will be a starter.
3.05 - Louis Delmas, S DET - Need some safety help, and he was the best on the board. Hopefully being at Detroit will give him plenty of opportunity to make tackles assuming they'll usually be giving the ball away.
4.08 - Clint Sintim, LB NYG - More LB help. See above.
6.08 - Connor Barwin, DE HOU - Ahh. Here's where we get to my "lists" of guys to pick, where my first pick was gone, so this was my 2nd choice. My depth in DEs is probably about to drop, so I need some future help. Javon Ringer was my 1st choice.
7.08 - Vontae Davis, CB MIA - Another "alternate choice". Needed some youth on my CBs. Kruger was the 1st.
I really wanted a TE, but every time I went to pick a guy that I thought might help, he'd get snatched before I could get him. So it's off to FA, I guess.
